Lesson 19 · Grammar

Joining two sentences with en and maar

Twee zinnen verbinden met en en maar

En (and) adds information; maar (but) introduces a contrast. Here, they join two short statements. After en or maar, keep the ordinary order: first the subject, then the verb, as in English. Fill in the given words without changing their forms.
